I was thrilled that with the site up for the first week I was able to get a first interview with a photographer who has work I really enjoy. Having limited time to do this makes it challenging but very much worth it. I have a few more in the works. Although site is new and thus traffic tiny I received several emails thanking me for trying to get interviews together. I also got a thanks for introducing someone to Chris’s work. That’s not a bad start!
On a different note I haven’t taken many pics this week. I realized that I hesitate quite a bit in deciding whether or not to take a photo. Especially street shots. After realizing how many shots Chris does in a day it has given me some good inspiration.
I find close up street shots challenging. Sometimes I have the cajones to do it and sometimes I don’t. I found a great thread on the Hardcore Street Photography forums about how to get over that apprehension. Go to the thread AT THIS LINK and scroll down to Jim O’Connell’s advice. Solid Advice.
I also appreciate that Jim’s work is under Creative Commons. Here’s one of his pics which also has an interesting thread attached to it about ethics and street photography. Click on the pic to read that thread.
I think you mean “cojones”…
Yeah, those too
